M3 Rock Festival 2011 at Merriweather Post Pavilion

First time attending M3. What is the hotel situation? What's closest? What's best, What's available? Any info in much appreciated

Well, I'm afraid you're a little late to the dance for the Sheraton which is the closest hotel and where many people (including likely some band members) may be staying.

But I would highly recommend the Hilton Columbia. It's a very quick straight drive to the venue and has a good bar and restaurant. Many people will be staying there. Last year I stayed there with two buddies and we got a suite at a very reasonable rate so we were all real comfortable.

If you go to the left of this page and click on "Festival 411" there is contact information for all the area hotels. Being that the Sheraton is sold out, I'd highly recommend the Hilton.
