M3 Rock Festival 2011 at Merriweather Post Pavilion

I have a great suggestion that would make M3 the greatest festival in the world.  How about making sure that the tickets are sold to the fans who are actually attending the event, instead of 90% of them going to money hungrey brokers?  This is not a slam on the people who put this together.  I realize that is not their intention, but something should be done about this. 

Will never happen...The promoters etc dont give a damn if 6,000 people who truly belong, were there since the first M3, post on the forum,are members of the fan clubs, are true 80's hair band fans etc come see the show...they want 12,000 people to come see the show and pay for tickets.....DESPITE how that actually happens, as long as it HAPPENS.............. ITS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY

I know how to stop the scalpers it will be inconvenient make all tickets except lawn be will call where ID and cc needs to be shown to pick them up.

Dude that is a great idea.  I wish but yeah, it is allllll about the $$$$$$$.

I've been all four years and a fan club would just make it harder for fans like me to get good seats.

Paperless tickets.  It's real simple.  I've been to 3 shows that do it.  They simply scan the credit card you purchased the ticket with and it prints out a stub with your seat number on it.  No physical tickets and there's no possibility of scalping.  Ofcourse it creates other problems like you if purchased several tickets for other people and some of those people want to show up at a different time than you do,  or if you found out you're unable to attend and you have no way to sell your ticket to somebody.  

Scalpers just purchase the prepaid VISA cards, buy the tickets and resell them and provide the VISA card to the purchaser.  Ticketless won't help and will call will be a HUGE PAIN IN THE ASS!!!  It's takes forever to stand in the lines to pick up your VIP swag let alone wait at will call and then VIP.  The scalpers already had tickets listed before they went on sale last year so they are getting them ahead of time anyway.

You got me there.  I had no idea that was even possible.
