Sounds kinda suspect to me. Their website says nothing...then again, would they post something like that?

I don't believe it what so ever...sounds way too suspect. I think someone just wants to kick up some drama to get a cheap & quick thrill.

Geoff writes all the material and his wife manages the band.  This is Bullshit.  I'm seeing him Wednesday night in NYC solo, then @ M3.  I have not seen this reported anywhere else.

It's 100% bogus!!! Why would someone makeup a story about something that supposedly happened a month ago and wait til now to talk about it? Total bull.

Man, you will see one hell of a show then. I wish I was going to it. Tony Harnell is on the bill. They are both doing acoustic sets. Tony was the singer for TNT. Would love to see him at M3 next year, but not if it's an acoustic thing. Saw him a couple of years ago in NYC. Enjoy the show man!!

Thanks bud.  I saw Tate on his proper solo tour about 10 years ago.  I'm not sure Harnell is on this date.  He might be only playing the Long Island date the next night.  I love TNT and hope he's there.  They just announced Eddie Ojeda from Twisted Sister is appearing, so it should be fun.  8)

Here's something interesting that I read about today...the 4 members of Queensryche (Michael Wilton,Parker Lundgren,Eddie Jackson, and Scott Rockenfield) are forming a band with Crimson Glory singer Todd La Torre called Rising West. They're going to play 2 shows in June at the Hard Rock Cafe in Seattle and they're playing songs from the first 5 Queensryche albums only. They may head into the studio in late summer to record some original material.

I read that too. While I tend not to believe the knife story, there may be some truth to some issues within the band. Guess we will see how it plays out.

Now Queensryche's publicist has made a statement downplaying the rumors about a strife in the group:

"There's really no 'situation' other than the fact the Geoff Tate is concentrating on his acoustic solo performances this summer while the other members of the band have formed a new outfit called Rising West with Todd La Torre of Crimson Glory. Everyone wants to stay busy, try new things and do what they do best...and,of course, that's rock in front of the masses. Queensryche are slated to perform select dates throughout the year."

Apparently,Geoff Tate has now shot all the rumors down. He took part in a short acoustic performance and a Q&A session last Wednesday at a classic rock radio station in San Antonio. During the question-and-answer part of the event,Tate was asked about the future of Queensryche in light of the recent rumors and this is what he said:

"Well, they made me give up my knife when I came in here today," Tate joked. "Mandatory metal detector..." He then added on a more serious note,"Nah,rumors are rumors. We're planning on getting together next year to perhaps record, definitely tour. We just all decided this year that we're gonna take the year to do side projects,so that's what we're doing." He continued, "I'm thinking,I'm not gonna really dispel too many of the rumors because it's hardly ever that Queensryche gets any publicity,so this is great. All 43 people on the Internet are talking about it."

Ok,things are starting to be very sketchy with Queensryche now. As much as I don't believe the "knife incident",I now firmly believe that there is some kind of trouble going on with the band. Check this article out:

"Queensryche Members Unable To Make Tonight's Show;Geoff Tate Vows To 'Rock' Salt Lake City"

Seattle progressive rockers Queensryche are scheduled to perform tonight (Monday,June 11) at USANA Amphitheatre in west Valley City,Utah as the support act for Scorpions. According to Queensryche singer Geoff Tate,"some of the members" of the band could not make tonight's show "for personal reasons". He adds, "Although I would have really loved for all of us to play together,it's wasn't possible for them. I couldn't miss playing for one of the best rock audiences in the world and opening for one of my all-time favorite bands for anything. Thanks to my fans, and the Scorpions for your continued support and I plan to rock Salt Lake City today at the show".

Well... backstage talk at Rocklahoma was that Rocklahoma was the last time you will see this version of Queensryche together. And we'll just say that the "talk" wasn't just fans... it was people really close to the situation. You guessed it.. the Queensryche name may live on.. but there will be a fight over it.

They'll survive, but I imagine they'll have to play at much smaller venues.  No more big theaters.

Define smaller venues?  Smaller than Merriwether?

Like a small theater or a place like a Jaxx or crocodile rocks or something like that.    They never headlined at big outdoor ampitheaters.  They only play places like Merriweather if it's a festival, or if they're the opening band on a big tour.
